Well, not that I am a super blogger by any means, but my newest blog has a sole purpose - to cleanse my ever expanding closet.
Most of my close friends know that I have recently lost a good deal of weight. Therefore I am passing on my fabulous finds to a new home. I get bored with clothes fairly easily, so most pieces have only been worn a time or two.
So if you are looking for some medium, large, 10-12 head on over to SC Crew's Closet. Most things are from J Crew and Banana Republic.
Happy Shopping!

STOP! You MUST Read This
So where has this information been all my life? I have to give major props to "Crewsing" for sharing this information. I like to think I am a fairly educated person when it comes to fasion. I mean how many different fashion magazines do I subscribe to??
Anyway, follow this link to Crewsing Thru My 50's to find your perfect skirt length. The process is easy and it will totally transform the way you look at buying skirts.
Happy hemming and happy shopping!

I've had the time of my life
I can still remember crystal clear the movie Dirty Dancing. What child of the 80's doesn't remember? That movie, and of course Patrick Swayze stole my heart. While I am not a great dancer, I do remember dancing in my room to the soundtrack and singing it at the top of my lungs.
I just heard She's Like the Wind last week on Sirius and now I know it will never be the same.
Patrick Swayze was an amazing talent on screen and in real life. He will be sorely missed.

Introducing my first blog award!
My dear friend Kristen from The Whole Kristen Caboodle! sent this award:![]()
For those that know, I adore tiara's and am totally bummed I can't wear one all the time. Pageants are a thing of my past, but everyone should own a tiara!
My queenly duties:
1. List 7 things that make me awe-summm.
2. Pass the award to 7 bloggers that I love.
3. Tag those bloggers to let them know they are now Queens too (and link back to the Queen who tagged yours truly!).
So, why do I think I am Aw-summm...
1. I'm creative. I think it's because I'm lefthanded, but also because my parents always encouraged me to do whatever it was I wanted and it was usually creative. I can make floral centerpieces, make my own hand-tied bows without the use of a Bowdabra, and create advertising for my job.
2. I'm a good listener. I think it's because of my psychology background. I don't necessarily try to help people and I certinly don't judge them, but I always have an open ear for friends and family.
3.When I put my mind to something, I do it. In college, I decided I wanted to be the mascot, so I auditioned and got it. Last year, I started running and ended up running my first half marathon.
4. I'm a stealty shopper. I can find a good deal if there is one to be found. My tips for those aspiring to be stealty shoppers - shop and shop often!
5. I'm extremely independent. At the age of 13 I studied abroad in Africa for three weeks and then again when I was 16, this time in Australia. In college, I moved to New York City for an internship. Now, I am married, but my husband is gone every other week for work so I continue to live an independent lifestyle most of the time.
6. I'm always searching for new ways to challenge myself. As stated in #3, I decided to run a half marathon. That was a challenge. I think next will be either my PhD in Mass Communications or Law School.
7. I just know how to have fun. Whether it's making people laugh, simply carrying on a conversation or making a fool out of myself dancing.
So I am passing on this fabulous award to the following Aw-summm Queens:
1. Nixie - Miller Time - Simply because she is one of my best friends, will run with me, and is one of the most talented artist I know.
2. Alexis - J Crew Aficionada - She is my J Crew enabler. She does a fantastic job with all things devoted to J Crew and I can't thank her enough for hosting such a fabulous blog!
3. Erin - Blue Eyed Bride - She inspires me for everyday life. We met through USC and she is one of the sweetest, most down to earth people I have ever met. She also has the most adorable little boy!!
4. Ginger Snap - GingerSnap's Daily Fashion Post - She makes me laugh daily with her insights to law school and life in Florida. I am completely in awe of her fabulous fashion sense.
5. Emily - From the Land of Cotton There are few people who love Gamecock athletics as much as we do. An added benefit, we share the same name. ;)
6. Brooke - Brooke Turner Photography - She has photographed several friends and her work is completely stunning. When the next occasion comes up, I'm calling her to do my photos.
7. Jami - Bahmer Adventures - Jami is one of the coolest people I know. We worked together at USC and she up, married and moved to Alaska where she is taking on new adventures. I love her and miss her dearly.

My Best Friend's Wedding
So usually I reserve my posts until I have something really fabulous to talk about. Hence this post, my best friend's wedding!
Nixie, one of my dearest friends since high school, got married this weekend. We have pretty much been through it all - boyfriends and all the drama that comes with them, college roomates and sorority sisters, our first half marathon!
I was absolutely honored to be part of her big day. Her wedding was fabulous with all kinds of special, personal touches that only she would think of. She is a photography teacher so instead of hiring a professional, she hired her students. What a great way to personalize something while also giving an opportunity for her students to build a portfolio. Let me add their photos are amazing!
She went with an aqua color and it truly pops against her dress and our bridesmaid dresses (which I picked out! They don't call me a fashionista for nothing!)
Well photos speak louder than words so here goes:

Motivation...or lack thereof
Well, spring is trying to arrive. Sure we still have cool days but the sun is out almost everyday, flowers are peeking their heads out of the ground, and the birds are out of hibernation. I love spring for many reasons: the lovely warm weather and the feel of the sun on my face, USC Baseball games!!, and super cute skirts and dresses.
So how does the title of this post fit in? Well with the super cute skirts and dresses comes having nice toned legs. And let's just also discuss a trip to the beach with a bikini. As the beginning of April nears, that leaves just two months before Memorial Day and the official start of bathing suit season. To say I'm not ready would be the understatement of the century!
We have been having the Biggest Loser competition at work. My team has done ok, but I admit, I have not been, er, pulling my weight. I just can't seem to get motivated. I know that some of the smallest changes (cardio and leaving those yummy Easter colored M&M's alone) will dramatically help. I guess I need a goal and lots of encourgaging support.
Now that the days are longer, I can make it home in the afternoons for a run. Blue I'm sure will also enjoy this as we pass a pond on my favorite running route. A nice swim for him turns into a moments pause and relaxation for me.
So here's to a little motivation! Oh, do I dare mention that I am in a wedding in June and my lovely dress is sleeveless and short. Got to start those push ups! :)
